[SMM Analysis: Brief Analysis of Silicone Exports in February 2025] In February 2025, China's exports of primary form polysiloxane reached 38,200 mt, down 13.38% MoM and up 23.23% YoY; the cumulative exports of primary form polysiloxane from January-February 2025 were 82,300 mt, up 7.25% YoY. Among these, the largest volume went to South Korea, at 7,700 mt, up 6.94% MoM from January, maintaining its position as the top destination.

SMM March 21 News: In February 2025, China's exports of primary form polysiloxane from the silicone sector were 38,200 mt, down 13.38% MoM and up 23.23% YoY; cumulative exports for January-February 2025 reached 82,300 mt, up 7.25% YoY. The largest trade volume in February went to South Korea, at 7,700 mt, an increase of 6.94% MoM, maintaining its top position.

In terms of specific export trading partners, demand from South Korea remained the highest this month, while demand from Russia decreased. Exports to South Korea in February were 7,700 mt, up 6.94% MoM. The top 5 export trading partners in February were South Korea, India, US, Vietnam, and Turkey, accounting for 49.61% of total exports. Vietnam's demand rose to third place, with the top 5 export volumes totaling 19,000 mt, down 9.95% MoM.

Compared to January data, South Korea's trade volume was 7,700 mt, up 6.94% MoM, accounting for 20.09% of total exports; India's trade volume decreased 28.79% MoM to 4,700 mt, accounting for 12.44% of total exports; US trade volume was 2,600 mt, accounting for 6.84% of total exports, down 1.56% MoM; Vietnam's trade volume was 2,000 mt, accounting for 5.13% of total exports, down slightly 7.25% MoM, rising to fourth place; Turkey's trade volume was 2,000 mt, accounting for 5.11% of total exports, down 22.62% MoM; Russia's trade volume was 1,400 mt, down 36.36% MoM, accounting for 3.73% of total exports, falling to seventh place.

This week, ferrous metals were in the doldrums, with coking coal and coke staging a mid-week rise. At the beginning of the week, financial markets experienced sharp fluctuations, dragging down sentiment in the ferrous chain and leading to a pullback in futures. Mid-week, Indonesia's cut to coke production quotas drove coking coal and coke futures to lead the gains, though the impact was more pronounced on thermal coal, while coking coal's rise was largely sentiment-driven and short-lived. In the latter part of the week, finished products continued their seasonal inventory buildup, and support from the raw material side weakened, causing the entire ferrous chain to pull back. In the spot market, with the Chinese New Year holiday approaching, purchasing activity slowed down further, with end-users only making limited, as-needed purchases at low prices.
